Elastic Semantic is a London-based production collective founded by Michael Orwell.

“As a digital producer and creative, I’ve delivered interactive products, directed countless shoots and edits, written scripts and feature articles, and developed and produced hundreds of creative ideas.

My academic background is in biological science and ethics, as well as a stint in the music business; writing, producing and performing.

At the BBC, I worked on a big data-driven interactive product, BBC Lab UK, that partnered with university scientists and TV & Radio brands. I also became experienced at conceiving and designing interactive experiences, as well as mini-documentary films and animated explainers. BBC Lab UK was BAFTA nominated

My interactive graphic novel ‘Tell Me Your Secrets’ was showcased at the Sheffield Documentary Festival, and I produced the most successful BBC News interactive of all time.

After the BBC, I have worked for numerous clients developing their editorial ambitions and making high-quality factual & cultural films. I have also worked on live digital broadcasts at The Royal Albert Hall and for a major games publisher.

I’m fascinated by the opportunities presented by immersive and experiential content and continue to develop these as part of my creative practice.”
